As much as President Donald Trump may or may not be criticized for his response to North Korea's latest provocations through a sixth and perhaps most "brazen attack," President Trump will not stoop to revealing his plans to address the rogue nation — a longtime Trump administration vow — White House adviser Kellyanne Conway said Sunday.
"The president is not going to broadcast to North Korea or anyone else ahead of time what the United States will do next," she told Fox News' "Fox & Friends Sunday." "He has called that out as a failing of American national security and foreign policy in the past administration at the very least. He said, 'Why are we telling everybody what we're about to do when we do it?'"
Conway predicted Sunday morning a response from President Trump, but one that will not be revealing details as much as reiterating a stern message to Kim Jung Un and the rogue regime.
"Go back to a month ago, when President Trump said at Bedminster that North Korea will see fire and fury the likes of which no one has ever seen," Conway told Fox News. "And he came under immediate vicious attack for the mainstream media that's skeptical — whereas many Americans listened to that and said 'good, get tough with them'; show them we will not accept them threatening our allies in the region, what they did with Japan last week, but show them this president means business when it comes to his first essential duty: protecting the safety and security of Americans, our allies or interest around the globe."
Conway said attacking President Trump's words in the media amid this crisis is useless, because the actions will not be revealed but the messages sent will come from a position of strength and force.
"Where he says 'all options are on the table,' folks should examine that and unpack that, and instead they attack what word to use and what sentence," Conway said. "Look at him as the commander-in-chief, president of the United States, leader of the free world, and he is not allowing North Korea to slide by on this."
