Former President George H. W. Bush and his wife Barbara sent their prayers to "fellow Houstonians and Texans" fighting the ravages of what was once Hurricane Harvey, The Hill reported.
"We are praying for all our fellow Houstonians and Texans affected by Harvey, and truly inspired by the flotilla of volunteers — Points of Lights all — who are answering the call to help their neighbors," the former president said.
"We salute them, the first responders, and the local elected officials for their grit and determination in the face of this extraordinary storm."
The former president and one-time first lady are currently in Maine. He expressed hope that Texans would "come together and rebuild."
