If the leading conservative political magazines strike you as some pretty weak tea, stronger stuff will be served by the Tea Party Review, the Washington Wire Blog of The Wall Street Journal reports. The first magazine of America’s newest political movement debuts on Friday at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington.

A project of tea party organizers and the conservative imprint Higher Standards Publishers, the inaugural Review will essay on Obamacare, black conservatives, civil liberties, and historical figures that inspire the modern-day tea party, among other topics.

A companion website, TeaPartyReview.com, describes the new monthly as “a place to develop plans for taking our country back.”

“People are weary of the distorted version of the tea party movement that we see in most of the media,” said Katrina Pierson, a Dallas Tea Party organizer serving as the magazine’s national grass-roots director.

“Tea party members want a magazine for the movement, created by members of the movement,” Pierson adds.
