GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney took left-leaning MSNBC to task at a campaign rally in Virginia Beach, Va., Thursday night.

“I don’t know how closely you’re watching the president’s campaign,” he said, according to Politico. “My guess is you’re not seeing a lot of MSNBC, but . . . ”

The crowd then interrupted him with laughs, and some booed the cable channel.

“Or other stations that are showing both sides of the campaign,” Romney said.

“But the president’s campaign has become smaller and smaller. And I say that because he was just the other day talking about saving characters on Sesame Street and playing word games with my name and attacking me on a regular basis – attacks that he knows aren’t true.”

Perhaps Romney was actually on to something about MSNBC. The Pew Research Center just released a study showing that 71 percent of the network’s coverage of him was negative between Aug. 27 and Oct. 21.

By contrast Fox News's coverage of President Barack Obama was negative 46 percent of the time.
