Sen. Rob Portman, R-Ohio, often mentioned as a possible GOP vice-presidential candidate, says he is staying in the Senate.
CNN reports that Portman, campaigning on behalf of Mitt Romney in Denver, said, "I just got elected two years ago. I think that's where I'm going to end up staying. I think it's a very important position right now."
However, CNN noted that Portman’s response to a question about becoming the vice presidential nominee might have been calculated to throw off speculation.
