Gasoline prices are rising again, averaging more than $3.50 a gallon Monday and headed above $4 soon, many experts say. Republicans know whom to blame: President Barack Obama,
Politico reports.
He’s not doing enough to boost domestic production, they say. “This debate is a debate we want to have,” House Speaker John Boehner told fellow Republican House members in a closed-door meeting, Politico reports.
“Your constituents saw that report [forecasting higher gas prices], and they’ll be talking about it. When they do, tell them about this bill that we’re working on.” He was referring to the transportation and energy bill the GOP seeks to push through the House.
Gas prices have almost doubled from $1.89 a gallon when Obama entered the White House in January 2009.
