While the Obama administration's handling of the terrorist attack that killed four Americans in Libya is near the top of the news cycle now, real estate billionaire Donald Trump doesn’t think the issue will have a decisive impact on the presidential election.

"I don't see the people and everybody out there looking at this the same way they should be," he said on "Fox and Friends" Monday, The Hill reports.

The Obama administration’s actions "show incompetence,” he said. But, “the thing that will play a big role [in deciding the election] will be the economy."

Vice President Joe Biden's claim in Thursday’s debate that the White House didn’t know about State Department requests for more security in Benghazi, where the attack took place, is "unbelievable," Trump said.

President Barack Obama is at fault in the end, he said. "The country [U.S.] is incompetently led. . . . It is always the person on the top. The president is our leader, and he has to bear responsibility."

Meanwhile, Trump told The Wall Street Journal that the only reason for the United States to intervene in Libya would be to gain control of its oil. “If we don’t take the oil, I have no interest in Libya,” he said.
