NYU Hospital Evacuates Patients, on Back Up Power

New York University Langone Medical Center was evacuated Monday night, after power went out as a result of Superstorm Sandy, and generators subsequently began to go down.

The hospital is evacuating some patients after it lost power and is on backup power, according to CNN. It is unclear how many patients are being transferred to other facilities. The hospital has limited access to communications.

he hospital complex is near the East River in an area of lower Manhattan where flooding has been reported.
