The singer Madonna took off her shirt at a concert in New York City’s Yankee Stadium Thursday night to show “OBAMA” emblazoned on her back.

While singing “Like a Virgin,” she put her back to the audience. “Tonight, I’m not going to show you my a–,” she said, according to The Wall Street Journal. “I’m going to show you my feelings.” Then she removed the black fishnet that was on her torso to reveal the “OBAMA” body art.

Madonna also offered a verbal message. “Thank God for Michelle Obama and her good-looking husband too,” she said. “We are free. Do not take this freedom for granted, because if you do for one second, you will lose it.”

The concert was part of Madonna’s “MDNA” tour. During this tour she has displayed other messages on her back and voiced support for local issues such as gay rights and free speech for Russian rock band Pussy Riot.
