Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal will become chairman of the Republican Governors Association (RGA) next year after Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell steps down, reports Politico.

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie will then takeover in 2014. The RGA chairmanship has become a plumb job as the group has increased its financial backing and its influence.

Jindal's vice chairman will be Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker. Then, in 2014, Jindal would become vice chairman under Christie. The idea is to put all of the three rising stars in positions of leadership
