Though Winston Churchill is known as one of the greatest statesmen in history, he also correctly predicted several major points in history, a fact that author James Humes believes makes him a “modern Nostradamus.”

In his new book, “Churchill: The Prophetic Statesman,” Humes writes that Churchill in 1908 predicted with detail Hitler’s rise, and to a certain extent warned the world about the potential for Muslim terrorists and problems in the Middle East.

Watch the exclusive interview here.

Humes, in an exclusive interview with Newsmax TV, said that in 1921 Churchill gave a speech to the House of Commons about witnessing a religious sect in the middle east “more violent that any religious sect in history.”

“They will kill their own sister for wearing the attire, and this group is going to wreak terror on the west,” he wrote. “Now, he didn’t exactly predict 9/11. He did describe the bomb carrying Jihadists who would drop bombs and burn embassies and destroy buildings all to ensure a Muslim heaven.”

The deceased British prime minister had seen firsthand, Humes said, the forerunners of al-Qaeda — the Whirling Dervishes. After fighting against this group, he predicted Muslims from the middle east “would wreak havoc on the West.”

Churchill also was not kind about the U.N., Humes said.

“I heard him give a speech in 1957 to London,” the author said. “He said the United Nations is a feckless, impotent institution that has been maimed by a congenital deformity, the Soviet veto. And that increasingly, the United Nations is going to be dominated by one-party states, dictator states. And we look at Syria today which is killing thousands every day, their country, Syria, sits on the Human Rights Commission at the United Nations.”

Humes, also a speechwriter for Reagan, Nixon, Eisenhower, and Ford, said there’s no comparison between the straight-talking Churchill and sometimes professorial Obama.

“There’s no comparison to Churchill. Churchill wrote his own speeches. Obama doesn’t,” Humes said. “You can’t beat that. By the way, Ronald Reagan could write better speeches than any of his speech writers. And Ronald Reagan helped bring down the Iron Curtain. Obama has a good speech writer and he reads well from the prompter but his speeches will not live in history as Churchill’s do.”
