Former Rep. Gabby Giffords' gun-control group has raised $11 million in the past four months.

Americans for Responsible Solutions, formed by Giffords and her husband Mark Kelly after the December school shootings in Newtown, Conn., already has signed up 366,000, with about 53,500 giving donations, Politico reports.

Politico said it was unable to determine whether the majority of the money came from small donors or from "mega donors," as New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg does with his group Mayors Against Illegal Guns.

"Our early success at building a powerful network of committed activists – and the strength of that network – shows that the issue of reducing gun violence in America isn’t going away," ARS executive Pia Carusone, told Politico. "The hundreds of thousands of members and donors who've joined Gabby and Mark in just our first four months show that Americans know that we can protect the 2nd amendment AND make our communities safer."

The group has run only a few ads. Prior to the expanded background check bill that was defeated in the Senate in April, the group targeted the four Senate and House leaders in Nevada, Kentucky, Ohio, and California. After the vote, it ran "thank you" ads for Sens. John McCain, R-Ariz., Mary Landrieu, D-La., Susan Collins, R-Maine, and Kay Hagan, D-N.C.

Two attack ads were run against Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., and Sen. Kelly Ayotte, R-N.H.
