The Atlanta woman who has alleged having a 13-year affair with Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain filed a sexual harassment claim against another man 10 years ago and reportedly was herself the defendant in a libel case.

The woman, Ginger White, came forward with her claim in a Monday interview with Fox 5 News in Atlanta, becoming the fifth person to accuse Cain of improper behavior.

By Tuesday, Cain's Iowa campaign chair told The Associated Press that the candidate was reassessing his campaign, but stopped short saying Cain would end his candidacy for the GOP nomination. He quoted Cain, who told staff the allegations have taken "an emotional toll" on his family but he would press forward.

Speaking to Wolf Blitzer on CNN on Monday afternoon, Cain acknowledged knowing White but denied having a sexual relationship with her.

White said the affair with Cain began after they met in the late 1990s in Louisville, Ky., when Cain was president of the National Restaurant Association.

White, an unemployed single mother, filed a sexual harassment claim against an employer in 2001, The New York Times reported. The case was settled.

Fox News found White’s bankruptcy filing nearly 23 years ago in Kentucky, and several eviction notices in the Atlanta area during the past six years.

Fox also reported that a former business partner of White once sought a “stalking temporary protective order” against her for “repeated emails/texts threatening lawsuit and defamation of character.”

The case was dismissed, but was followed by a libel suit against White. White failed to respond to the lawsuit, Fox reported.

Questions about the background of another woman who accused Cain of improper behavior, Sharon Bialek, were raised after she claimed on Nov. 7 that Cain had groped her 14 years ago, Newsmax reported earlier.

Bialek was unemployed for more than two years before she made her accusation, and she too has filed for bankruptcy, in her case,  twice.

The Chicago Tribune reported that Bialek had accused a former boyfriend of harassing her for money he had loaned her. And in 2009, the IRS filed a tax lien against Bialek for nearly $5,200.

After Ginger White came forward with her charge, Cain told Blitzer that he had already told her wife about the accusation, and her response was: “Here we go again.”
