Movie actor Ben Affleck, in Washington to raise awareness about violence in Congo, declined to comment about whether he is interested in running for Senate in Massachusetts.

A seat may open soon, as Democratic Sen. John Kerry is expected to replace Hillary Clinton as secretary of state.

Talk has circulated that Affleck might run. But when asked about the issue by Politico, the director and star of “Argo” responded, “That’s not what I’m here to talk about. I’m here to talk about what role we can play in making the Eastern Congo a better place.”
