The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency chief is returning to the Gulf Coast to monitor the response to the massive oil spill and its effect on the region.
The return on Sunday marks Lisa P. Jackson's third visit since the oil started gushing from a blown-out undersea well more than a month ago.
A news release from the Deepwater Horizon information center says Jackson plans to speak to residents about the spill.
Anger is growing along the Gulf Coast as the ooze of oil started washing into delicate Louisiana wetlands. BP PLC is responsible for the well and cleanup. The oil company says the latest try to plug the well won't happen until at least Tuesday.
President Barack Obama also has said a commission will look into the leak as political pressure mounts.
