Maine officials say federal agents serving warrants exchanged fire with people inside a home, killing one man.

Kate Simmons, of the Maine attorney general's office, said the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives agents were attempting to execute arrest and search warrants at 6 a.m. Tuesday at a house in Old Orchard Beach, a coastal city south of Portland. Two men and two women were inside.

Simmons said the agents were met with resistance and exchanged gunfire with people in the home. She said one of the men inside was killed, but none of the ATF agents are believed to have been shot.
