President Donald Trump compared the ratings for one of his TV appearances to coverage of the Sept. 11, 2001 attack on the World Trade Center in New York.
"It's the highest for 'Face the Nation' or as I call it, 'Deface the Nation.' It's the highest for 'Deface the Nation' since the World Trade Center — since the World Trade Center came down," Trump said in an interview with The Associated Press.
Trump did not make clear which appearance on CBS News' "Face the Nation" he was talking about. A January 2016 appearance earned 4.6 million viewers, and appearances after that were rated lower, according to an analysis by The Washington Post.
Trump will return to "Face the Nation" in an interview on Saturday to mark his 100th day in office, according to CBS News.
The first part of the interview will air Sunday on "Face the Nation" and the second half will appear Monday on "CBS This Morning."
