WATERTOWN, N.Y. -- Authorities say the military policeman accused of stabbing his two Army buddies to death fled in a car belonging to one of the victims and had injuries on his fingers linking him to the crime scene.

A not guilty plea on second-degree murder charges was entered on behalf of 20-year-old Spc. Joshua Hunter Friday morning in Jefferson County Court in Watertown.

Authorities say he killed 20-year-old Waide James and 23-year-old Diego Valbuena, both of Florida, inside the apartment the three Iraq veterans shared just outside upstate New York's Fort Drum. Their bodies were found Tuesday.

A detective says in a deposition that Hunter had Valbuena's car when he was arrested in Ohio early Wednesday. Jefferson County Detective Scott Sterling also says Hunter made admissions that he killed his two roommates.
