The man who led the Defense Department at the time of the 9/11 terrorist attacks cooperated with the search and was allowed to continue on his way. One report said other passengers recognized him, and he waved at a group of soldiers, The Hill reported.
The TSA has received widespread criticism for intrusive security searches, including full body scanners and hand searches of the elderly and children.
