Authorities are investigating the death of a 53-year-old man found inside a tent at the Occupy New Orleans encampment.

The unidentified man’s body was discovered on Tuesday and he had been dead for at least two days, John Gagliano, chief investigator with the Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office, told The Times-Picayune.

Gagliano said the man had apparently been living in a tent at the Occupy New Orleans camp at Duncan Plaza, across from City Hall.

The cause of death was not immediately known. Gagliano said an autopsy would be conducted. "There are no obvious signs of trauma to the body," Gagliano said.

Last week, a young woman died after being found unresponsive in a tent at the Occupy Vancouver camp in Canada. Authorities said there was no sign of foul play, but the cause of death had not been determined. A protest organizer said there was speculation that the woman had suffered a drug overdose.
