President Barack Obama has only one public event on his schedule Tuesday, a speech at a United Auto Workers conference in Washington.

It will be held at a hotel just a few miles from the White House.

Earlier, the president and Vice President Joe Biden get their daily briefing, and later have lunch with each other. In the afternoon, they sit down in the Oval Office with Defense Secretary Leon Panetta.
