WASHINGTON (AP) — Michelle Obama has been everywhere from a West Point mess hall to a NASCAR speedway to drum up support for military families. Now she's capping the yearlong campaign with a four-state tour to take stock of what's been done.

Mrs. Obama is marking the anniversary of her "Joining Forces" initiative on Wednesday with a White House ceremony before going on the road. She'll also announce two new milestones this week in the campaign to support military families.

She says hundreds of nursing organizations will work to train nurses on how to care for those with post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injuries. And the first lady will announce the hiring of the 50,000th person under an effort to promote the employment of more veterans and military spouses.
