The view that the United States in embroiled in a “war on terror” is political correctness run amok and masks the fact that the real enemy is radical Islam, author and attorney Peter Feaman tells Newsmax.TV.

Feaman, author of “The Next Nightmare: How Political Correctness will Destroy America,” said the problem began under the George W. Bush administration and accelerated under President Barack Obama.

“Unfortunately, it started as far back as the Bush administration, when we were told right after 9/11 that Islam is a religion of peace,” he said during an exclusive interview with Newsmax.TV. “There’s about a thousand years of history that would contradict that assumption. And then it got worse when the Bush administration decided to describe what we were dealing with as a ‘war on terror.’"

Story continues below the video.

“The ‘war on terror’ doesn’t describe who we’re fighting and why, or who attacked us and why — it simply describes the method of attack. So if the World Trade Center got bombed by B-52s at 40,000 feet, then we’d call it the ‘war on high-flying B-52s,’ which, as you could see, is pretty silly. Now it’s gotten worse under the Obama administration, called the ‘Overseas Contingency Operation.’ This vagueness about who we’re fighting and why is getting worse. And it emotionally, intellectually, and policy-wise disarms us. And that’s why I wrote the book.”

Feaman argues that the political correctness surrounding the fight against terrorism has blinded authorities so extensively that they failed to note the problems surrounding the service of Maj. Nidal Hasan, who is charged in the shooting deaths of 13 on Nov. 5, 2009, at Fort Hood, Texas.

“The most obvious and tragic example [of political correctness] is the Fort Hood massacre . . . One of the reasons I wrote the book is because that was preventable. Those deaths and that tragedy was preventable. If we weren’t so politically correct, we would have recognized that he was a problem. We would have taken steps to deal with it, and those lives would have been spared.”

Authorities had been aware that Hasan, a Muslim whose trial is scheduled for June, had contacted radical Islamists before the shooting.

Feaman predicts that the Europe we know could cease to exist in the next 20 years.

“Well it’s a dire prediction but, unfortunately, I think it’s an accurate one,” he said. “Indigenous Europeans are no longer having babies. Their population replacement rate is less than what they need to just exist as a culture.

“For example, the birthrate in Spain, in Italy — traditionally Catholic countries — less than 2.0; 1.3, 1.5, things like that. They’re not going to reproduce enough to survive. You overlay that with unbridled immigration, which are issues we struggle with here. The immigrants there have been Muslim and Islamists. The third part of that perfect storm is the rise of jihad, and you have those immigrants who are militants and, all of a sudden, that combined will end Europe as we know it. Unless radical steps are taken and it may very well be too late for our European cousins.”

Likewise, Feaman contends that the Judeo-Christian values the United States was founded on are at risk.

“We have been a city on a hill and a light to the world as a country because we are a Judeo-Christian, values-driven nation,” he said. “And when we lose that vision, then Christianity or Judeo-Christianity will not survive in the United States. If we get back to our cultural roots, we will survive and will continue to prosper and continue to flourish.”
