Rush Limbaugh: Govt Can't Solve Economic Woes

By    |   Wednesday, 09 November 2011 01:08 PM EST

A “major disconnect” exists among Americans who believe the same government that caused the nation’s economic woes can fix them, Rush Limbaugh said on his radio show Wednesday.

“Look at the jobs in the private sector government policy has destroyed — look at . . . that damage to everyday life — government policy is responsible for all of it,” Limbaugh said. “And yet, look at the inordinately large number of people who think only the government can fix it — that’s, to me, a major disconnect.”

Americans should stop whining and return to the tenet of self-reliance, he said.

“They might have a way out of their problem themselves,” Limbaugh said. “This is not how the country was built. The country was not built by people with attitudes that seem to be prevalent today.”

Switching gears, Limbaugh said he received numerous emails raving about Herman Cain’s performance in Tuesday’s news conference. But Limbaugh said the Republican presidential candidate’s public explanation has left him wide open to defeat.

“If he’s lying, yes, he’s finished forever,” he said. “If what he did yesterday is proven to be a total lie, if he does and has known the Bialek babe, it’s over.”
