Conservative crooner Pat Boone is back on the airwaves, speaking out against Obamacare and attacking an Ohio senator for supporting President Barack Obama's signature healthcare law.
The 1950s-era star is now the spokesman for 60 Plus, an organization that claims to be the alternative to the AARP, said the
Columbus Dispatch. Boone is on a television commercial attacking Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, for supporting the overhaul, which was signed into law last year.
In the 60 Plus commercial, Boone warns Medicare “will be bankrupt in nine years, but Washington politicians, like Sherrod Brown, are ignoring the problem, putting their own re-elections first.''
“Obama’s healthcare law, which Sen. Sherrod Brown says he is “proud” to have played a role in passing, creates a Medicare IRS that will deny seniors the care we deserve,” Boone says. “Sen. Brown needs to protect Ohio seniors, keep the promise he made to his constituents, and support real Medicare reforms that don’t put bureaucrats in the exam room.”
60 Plus launched the “No Medicare IRS” campaign nationally in October, and plans to run the Boone advertisements statewide in Ohio through Nov. 19.
