A fake photo of a Fisher Price "Happy Hour Playset" for children has gone viral on social media, bringing chuckles to some but angering others.
Adam Padillia, the owner of a New York branding agency, told The Huffington Post he first posted the photo Monday, saying he thought of the humorous idea while watching his 2-year-old daughter sitting at his kitchen counter that resembled a bar.
"It seemed like something someone might do," Padilla told The Huffington Post.
The Huffington Post said, though, the photo did not explode on the Internet until YouTube comedian Amiri King reposted it on Facebook, cropping out Padilla's watermark.
Many went to the Fisher Price Facebook page to comment, while some found the initial humor in the photo.
Fisher Price posted a short message on Facebook, confirming that it had not created nor promoted a toy such as the Happy Hour Playset.
"In the last few weeks some comical, yet fictional, Fisher-Price products have been introduced – perhaps the result of adult writers, designers and comedians that were Fisher-Price kids themselves," Amber Pietrobono, public relations manager for Fisher-Price, said, according to CBS News.
"As a premiere childhood development company focused on helping families get the best possible start in life, we take our role in developing toys and products very seriously, but can appreciate the recent product development suggestions as obvious love of the brand," Pietrobono continued.
