Republicans and Democratic opponents of Elizabeth Warren, who is running for the Senate seat of Republican Scott Brown, are calling the Harvard law professor an out-of-touch elitist who has closer ties to Washington, D.C., than Massachusetts, The Hill reports.

The National Republican Senatorial Committee has issued six releases calling her “Professor Warren,” and a Brown aide bought the Internet domain name QueenElizabethWarren.com, though the aide hasn’t put anything on the site.

One of Warren’s Democratic primary opponents, Alan Khazei, has urged her to reject PAC money.

A poll by WBUR radio conducted in the days before Warren announced her candidacy showed she trailed Brown by 9 percentage points. Brown remains popular despite the fact that Massachusetts consistently votes mostly Democratic.
