With talks swirling about Sarah Palin announcing a run for the presidential nomination, the former Alaska governor took to Twitter last Friday to set the record straight, reports the Hill.

Palin denounced speculations that she would announce her candidacy sometime this week writing, “Hmm, guess they forgot to inform me what I’m ‘expected to do’ next wk.”

Palin admitted that she wouldn’t mind throwing her name into the ring. But, she insisted that the election could not focus on any one particular candidate, or even the politics of a primary battle.

“I would love to be able to shake it up, but I also know it’s not about me,” she told Fox Business in a recent interview. She emphasized that there was a real need to “get the electorate to really start thinking about what the solutions are to these great challenges facing America.”
