In "Not Afraid of Life: My Journey So Far," Bristol Palin chronicles her 20 years, discussing issues ranging from her stint on “Dancing with the Stars” to the night she lost her virginity.

In an excerpt released to ABC News, Palin explains how she used her “Dancing with the Stars” paycheck to purchase a new house in Arizona for herself and her son, Tripp.

“I was thankful to get back to a simpler life — the kind that consisted of just Tripp and me and snowmachines and absolutely no spinning around in heels and sequins,” Palin writes. '

The excerpt then details an encounter Palin had with a sick, eight-month-old baby boy she met during a mission trip to Haiti.

“Though they didn’t think he’d live through the night, God gave him life,” Palin recalls.

"Not Afraid of Life: My Journey So Far" is set for release this Friday.
