The world's largest yacht is under construction at a shipyard in Germany, with the final product —its owner still a secret — set to reach six stories and stretch the length of one-and-a half football fields, plus a basketball court.

An unidentified Middle-Eastern billionaire is building the 590-foot ship called Azzam, eclipsing the 546-foot Eclipse, owned by Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich, CNBC reports.

Azzam, which is being built the German company Lurssen at its shipyard in Bremen,  is expected to cost more than $500 million and is scheduled to be delivered in 2013.

The vessel will be powered by four giant water jets that will be able to push the ship to speeds of more than 27 to 28 knots.

Industry executives say the owner is a member of one of the royal families in the Middle East, CNBC reported. The Azzam, which means “determination” in Arabic, will be a showcase for the Middle East, which is striving to become a global yachting center.
