Libertarian Vice Presidential candidate William Weld had a one-word description Wednesday for presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump: "huckster."
"If you give me more words, I have more," Weld, the former Massachusetts Republican governor told CNN anchor Chris Cuomo on the Libertarian Town Hall in New York.
He was engaged in a word-association exercise posed by Cuomo.
"I only asked one," the host said. "The choice was yours."
"I took the liberty," Weld said.
For his part, presidential candidate former New Mexico GOP Gov. Gary Johnson responded: "I'm sure there's something good to say about Donald somewhere, I'm sure."
He then added, "During the Republican debate, when it was asked the question will you support the nominee, I would have said: 'Look, I'll leave it open but I would not support Donald Trump based on what he has said to this point, that was all the things he had said to that point.'
"Everybody else said they would support the nominee," Johnson said. "I would have said no to Donald Trump unless things changed."
