Ashley Judd has not yet announced a bid for the Senate in 2014, but she already has Donald Trump fired up.

Trump tweeted on Tuesday that the actress and activist would make a “great” candidate.

“All reports indicate Ashley Judd will be running for Sen. McConnell’s seat,” wrote the real estate and entertainment mogul, referring to Kentucky Republican Mitch McConnell.

“She’s going to be a great candidate. . . . RE: Ashley Judd: Keep @KarlRove away. He already made her a viable candidate.”

Rove’s Super Pac attacked Judd in a web ad last month.

Trump later said in a statement to Politico, “Ashley Judd’s candidacy was created by Karl Rove’s terrible ads, even before she thought seriously about running. The ads made her look great and now she probably will run.”

Meanwhile, McConnell plans to start running his own ads in Kentucky on Thursday, 20 months before the election, Politico reported.

Recent polls indicate the Senate minority leader may be the most vulnerable Republican incumbent running in 2014.

McConnell’s ads, which will target women older than 25 in Louisville and Lexington, will air for one week.
