CNN: Trump Reshuffling Legal Team, Kasowitz Out

The spokesman for President Donald Trump's personal legal team resigned Thursday, The Washington Post reported.

Mark Corallo, a conservative public relations strategist, was working on the White House defense against special counsel Robert Mueller's probe into Russian election interference in the 2016 election, The Hill reported.

He confirmed his departure in an email statement, according to Reuters, but did not disclose any reason.

And late Thursday night, CNN reported that Trump was reshuffling his legal team and that longtime Trump personal attorney Marc Kasowitz himself was out.

"Kasowitz's role is changing because the needs are more Washington-centric and Kasowitz has done his primary job of putting the team together," CNN reported.

"Instead, attorney John Dowd, along with Jay Sekulow, will now be the President's primary personal attorneys for the investigation, according to the two sources with knowledge of the situation. Dowd will take the lead."

According to Politico, Corallo had never met Trump or Kasowitz before taking the job.

The outlet also reported Corallo previously worked with Mueller in the federal government.

"Bob is the best," Corallo tweeted on May 18, adding: "If the facts merit, he’ll recommend charging. More importantly, if there’s nothing there, he won't."

Corallo had been outspoken on Twitter in his criticism of Trump and the administration prior to his taking the job.
