Members of grass-roots organizations, worried that ACORN-like groups have regenerated and may try to thwart the will of the people this midterm, are fanning out across congressional districts nationwide Tuesday to monitor polling stations and provide an early warning system to detect and report vote fraud.

Grass-roots leaders tell Newsmax they expect to have up to 2,000 volunteers observing the vote nationwide as part of a program called “Operation Voter Shield.”

tea, party, vote, fraud, shield, effort“If the liberals think we are going to let them steal votes, they will find out very quickly that we have Tea Party Patriots waiting for them,” the head of the South Florida Tea Party, Everett Wilkinson, tells Newsmax. “We have thousands of poll watchers and workers across the country. In addition we have set up a toll free number for people to report fraud to a team of lawyers.”

The Tea Party Patriots organization has joined forces with Let Freedom Ring to set up a team of attorneys in a “war room” who will be taking calls throughout election night. They ask anyone who sees suspicious election activity to call 1-877-611-VOTE.

Also, grass-roots organizations have been recruiting poll watchers for the past month to observe the election process, ensure polling places are upholding the law, and report any attempts at voter intimidation, Wilkinson says.

The ResistNet organization is chiming in as well, sending e-mail blasts to members warning them to be on the look out for vote fraud and providing a toll free number for them to call if they see anything suspicious.

Tea Party Patriots are paying special attention to 23 closely contested House races where possible vote fraud is a concern.
