Obamacare bashing will figure prominently in Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell's re-election campaign next year if early ads put up Friday by a super PAC supporting the Kentucky Republican are any indication.
"On healthcare, Mitch McConnell's stood with Kentuckians from Day One. Tell him keep fighting to stop Obamacare in its tracks," goes the ad paid for by the Kentucky Opportunity Coalition, Politico reported Friday
The political commercial comes at a time when members on both sides of the aisle are expressing concerns about the implementation of Obamacare, following the president's own admission during a recent news conference that there would likely be "glitches and bumps."
The McConnell ad also highlights a comment last month made by Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus, warning that the final roll out of Obamacare in January could be a "huge train wreck."
The 30-second spot will air on Louisville and Lexington stations for a week at a cost of $109,000, according to Politico.
Scott Jennings, the strategist advising the PAC group support McConnell, told Politico that people are being encouraged to call McConnell's office "and tell him to keep up the fight against it."
The McConnell campaign has also aired its own television ads recently in the state even though his Democratic opponent is still unknown.
