Spratt Facing Anger From Obama, Pelosi in S.C.

Thursday, 07 October 2010 12:59 PM EDT

House Budget committee Chairman Rep. John Spratt, D-S.C., may be another victim of the public’s disapproval of President Obama and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. The 28-year congressional veteran faces the closest election of his career against Republican Mick Mulvaney, Politico reports.

spratt, south, carolina, obama, pelosiObama isn’t well liked in South Carolina’s 5th District, but it’s even worse for Pelosi . At a recent Mulvaney campaign event, some attendees sported “Fire Pelosi” signs. And there were a number of anti-Pelosi-themed carnival games for the kids.

Mulvaney advertisements note that he votes with Pelosi 98 percent of the time. One spot blasts “Pelosi’s energy tax,” and another features Spratt doing the cancan dance with her.
