Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin, who has taken a hiatus from her “One Nation” bus tour, has canceled a trip to Sudan. Sources tell The Washington Post that she ditched the visit to the unstable, war-torn nation for scheduling reasons.

She had planned to make the July visit with Franklin Graham, the son of Billy Graham, and Fox News’ Greta Van Susteren. Van Susteren has also canceled her trip, but Graham said he still plans to go. Palin spokesman Tim Crawford declined to comment on any of her travel plans, the Post reported.

The decision not to go to Sudan comes amidst mounting speculation about her presidential ambitions, the Post reported, noting that silence following the end of the East Coast leg of the One Nation bus tour raised questions whether the Midwest and South tours would occur.
Palin said on her Facebook page that she had been called for jury duty and said the bus tour would resume "when the time comes," adding she's looking forward "to hitting the open road again."

Graham, who heads the international Christian relief organization Samaritan’s Purse, said Palin has been interested in traveling to Sudan for years, beginning when she was still governor. An earlier trip didn’t work out because of a special legislative session that kept Palin in Juneau, he said according to the Post.
