Republican David Rouzer has confirmed he will make another bid for North Carolina's 7th Congressional seat in 2014.

The news, reported by Roll Call, comes just months after the former state senator lost to Democratic Rep. Mike McIntyre in what was the closest House race during the last election.

Rouzer conceded to the nine-term congressman following a lengthy recount. The results of the race were declared more than three weeks after the Nov. 6 election. He lost by only 654 votes – or 0.2 percent.

"To all those who have encouraged me to run again in 2014, your sincerity means a lot," he said at the time of his defeat, hinting at another rematch.

The seat is in the southeast of the Tar Heel State, and includes the cities of Wilmington and Fayetteville.

Rouzer is expected to make an official announcement this week.
