A new internal poll by the Pennsylvania Republican Party shows President Barack Obama is leading GOP challenger Mitt Romney by just one point, 48 to 47 percent, Pennsylvania’s Patriot-News reports.
Pennsylvania GOP Chairman Rob Gleason held a conference call with county chairs and other Republican leaders to discuss the results of the poll conducted by Susquehanna Polling and Research, the Harrisburg paper reported.
The Real Clear Politics polling average has Obama ahead by 8.6 percent in the Keystone state and polls show that the president has generally lead by high single digits or low double digits since February.
However, Republicans have argued the race is much closer, the paper noted.
