Mitt Romney’s wife, Ann, says she is upset with how the media is treating her husband, the National Review reports, adding it is because of their loyalty to President Barack Obama.

“All of us in this room know the media loves Barack Obama. They don’t want anyone who has a chance of defeating him,” she said at a campaign lunch Tuesday.

It’s “getting harder and harder to be cheerful,” Ann Romney added with a laugh, according to the Review. “I am so mad at the press [that] I could just strangle them. And, you know, I think I’ve decided there are going to be some people invited on the bus and some people just aren’t going to be invited on the bus.”

While his wife was ripping the media, Mitt Romney was giving a rare press conference — his first in three weeks. At that gathering he acknowledged that his campaign gaffes.

“I’m very pleased with the campaign, its organization,” Romney said. “The candidate sometimes makes some mistakes, and so I’m trying to do better and work harder and make sure that we get our message across.”

Romney said the fight between him and his GOP competitors won’t hurt the eventual nominee in the general election. At that point, “all of what’s gone on during the primary becomes very much a thing of the past, and we focus on what’s being said in the general,” he said.
