The four remaining GOP presidential candidates are viewed unfavorably by large numbers of voters who do not call themselves Republicans, a new
Washington Post/ABC News poll shows.
Among key independent voters, just 32 percent view Mitt Romney favorably, Rick Santorum clocks in at 30 percent, and Newt Gingrich at 21 percent. Ron Paul does best at 38 percent.
Overall, the favorability numbers are not much better. Romney gets 35 percent; Santorum and Paul 32 percent; and Gingrich 23 percent.
Among Republicans, Romney is view favorably by 60 percent, Santorum by 58 percent, Gingrich 42 percent, and Paul 38 percent, the poll showed.
