Rick Santorum’s decision to suspend his campaign may have tapped Mitt Romney as the “presumptive nominee,” but there has not been a victory celebration – until now, reports NewsOK.com
The Romney camp discloses that it will set off the fireworks and uncork the champagne Tuesday eve in New Hampshire.
With a variety of party venue possibilities given Tuesday’s primaries in Pennsylvania, New York, Connecticut, Delaware, and Rhode Island, Romney and his supporters will nonetheless let out the big cheers in Manchester, N.H.
“Gov. Romney kicked off his 2012 presidential campaign in New Hampshire,” says a member of the Romney team, NewsOK.com reports. “Tuesday will mark the semi-official end of the primary campaign and Romney will become the presumptive nominee. The campaign will come full circle in New Hampshire.”
Romney has christened the gala New Hampshire evening, “A Better America Begins Tonight,” NewsOK.com reports.
Word is he will dispense with the embarrassment of the remaining candidates on that evening much as he did in Phoenix last Friday: “Let me also commend the people who had the courage to run for president on our side of the aisle this year … some still running, some have gotten out of the race … Michele Bachmann, and Tim Pawlenty, and Jon Huntsman, and Herman Cain, and Rick Perry, and Ron Paul, and Rick Santorum, and Newt Gingrich.
“Each is going to provide a vital role in making sure that we win in November. Thank you, this extraordinary team. We have all fought hard and well and we’re going to fight for the things we believe in.”
