Poll: Voters Expect Republicans to Win Both Houses of Congress

Many political strategists have crunched the numbers and gauged voters’ moods to reach the conclusion that Republicans will take back control of both chambers of Congress in November’s elections. And voters apparently agree with the statisticians, Politico reports.

Politico, George Washington, GOP, Democrats, CongressA new Politico/George Washington University poll shows that 45 percent of the voters expect Republicans to win control of the House, while 36 percent disagree. And the margin is 46 percent to 37 percent that the GOP regains the Senate.

And that consensus view developed despite the fact that poll respondents split evenly — 43 percent to 43 percent — as to whether they will vote Democrat or Republican on Nov. 2.
