Michelle Obama’s choice of a $2,400 designer dress for her husband’s State of the Union address Tuesday night drew catwalk catcalls today from talk show host Rush Limbaugh.
“When I saw her, when they introduced her walking down the aisle to her seat, I said, ‘Where is she? Does she think she’s in Davos? Is this a cocktail party?’” Limbaugh said caustically to a caller on his radio show as he lambasted the first lady’s wardrobe choice.
Limbaugh said his people had checked around and found that the dress retails at Barney’s for a cool $2,400.
“So she shows up at the class warfare rally last night in the House chamber wearing a $2,400 cocktail dress!”
Barara Tfank designed the dress, which is part of her resort collection. Mrs. Obama has worn Tfank's pieces before.
