The Obama campaign is launching a $25 million TV ad campaign in nine swing states this week, the campaign’s senior strategist David Axelrod told reporters Monday.

The ad is titled “Go,” and focuses on what the White House views to be President Barack Obama’s major accomplishments of his first term. It will be shown in Colorado, Florida, North Carolina, Iowa, Ohio, Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, and Nevada, ABC News reports.

“We’re very proud of what this country has accomplished together, the president and the American people who fought their way through a difficult time. This ad speaks to it,” Axelrod said.

As a result of the ad campaign, the Obama campaign will have “spent more money offering people a positive vision for the future talking about the president’s record and the nation’s record under his leadership and where we’re going than Gov. Romney has in his entire campaign,” Axelrod claimed. He attacked Romney and his super PAC for running almost all negative ads.

But the first four of Obama’s TV ads for the election were negative, and Axelrod made it sound as if more are on the way. “We’re also going to be prepared to respond to the attacks that we expect to continue,” he said.

The Romney campaign was unimpressed with the new Obama ad and Axelrod’s remarks. “Americans are disappointed in President Obama’s liberal policies that haven’t made their lives any better,” Romney spokeswoman Amanda Henneberg told ABC. “President Obama just hasn’t lived up to his promises . . . Mitt Romney will get our country back on track and stop the middle-class squeeze of the Obama economy.”
