Michael Moore: Trump Will Win Election

Award-winning documentary filmmaker Michael Moore says Donald Trump is on his way to becoming the 45th president of the United States.

In an appearance Wednesday night on HBO's "Real Time with Bill Maher,'' the Oscar-winning director said:

"I'm sorry to have to kind of be the buzz kill here so early on, but I think Trump is going to win."

The statement prompted boos from Maher's largely left-leaning audience, but the host said he agreed, and warned "the enemy is complacency."

Moore, whose acclaimed films include, "Bowling for Columbine" and "Fahrenheit 9/11," called the Republican National Convention a "s--- show''  for such moments as when Hillary Clinton was accused of sympathizing with the devil and put on mock trial, with attendees chanting "Lock her up!"

But Moore believes it's no laughing matter.

"It might have sounded crazy to us but to millions and millions of Americans this was music to their ears," Moore told Maher.

"The truth is this plays to a lot of people that [Trump] has to win to become the next president ..."
