Rep. Marsha Blackburn said Sunday the Republican Party is "very quickly" moving toward unity behind Donald Trump to defeat Hillary Clinton — a candidate the Tennessee lawmaker branded as "a lying, cheating, stealing type woman."
In an appearance on CBS News'
"Face the Nation," Blackburn declared that national security, job and economic security and retirement security "are three top issues that we're hearing about" from voters.
"It doesn't matter if it's male or female," she said. "What they know is Hillary Clinton is a lying, cheating, stealing type woman. What they got in Donald Trump is a can-do man who says, 'we're going to get in behind and fix it.'"
"I look forward to a first 100 days of the President Trump administration," she added.
Blackburn predicted "the most dynamic campaign this fall that we have had in decades."
"You have millions of new voters that have come to the Republican party," she said. "You have people who are saying, 'let's build a bigger tent, bring people in, let's address these problems.'"
