Nancy Pelosi hasn’t spoken much about her future since Election Day.

The House Minority Leader thanked her Democratic colleagues on Friday for “for your enthusiasm for electing more Democrats to the House,” Politico reports.

But, otherwise, nothing – even though Democrats picked up seven seats on Tuesday, still far short of the 25 needed to win back the House.

Pelosi, 72, would have regained the speaker’s chair with that victory margin. She lost the seat after the 2010 elections.

Now, Pelosi is back in California, Politico reports, and Democrats have scheduled a caucus meeting for Wednesday.

Top aides told Politico that they did not expect to hear anything from the Minority Leader before next week.

But Democrats have, at Pelosi’s urging, rescheduled will now hold their leadership elections the week of Nov. 26, Politico reports.

The move has raised speculation that Pelosi may step down.
