Republican vice presidential nominee Mike Pence said Tuesday the recent firebombing of a GOP headquarters in North Carolina was "political terrorism."
Pence addressed the media outside the GOP's Orange County, N.C., headquarters in Hillsborough and spoke about Sunday's attack.
"My wife and I were in North Carolina [Tuesday] and I wanted to come by to call attention to this cowardly attack on our supporters in North Carolina and, to no less extent, an attack on the American political system," Pence said.
"This was an act of political terrorism."
A bottle of flammable liquid was reportedly tossed into the building, ignited, and caused significant damage inside before burning itself out. The Charlotte Observer reported there was a swastika painted on a nearby building, along with the message, "Nazi Republicans get out of town or else."
