Club for Growth President David McIntosh predicted Monday the Obamacare individual mandate will be repealed in the GOP tax bill — and that'll have the support of Republicans in the Senate.
In an interview on "Bloomberg Markets: Balance of Power," McIntosh also dismissed worries from deficit hawks about the tax reform measure.
"To get to sustained growth of 4 percent it will take a major major tax cut," he said.
According to McIntosh, you should expect a repeal of Obamacare's individual mandate in the GOP House legislation.
"It keeps the expansion of Medicaid and the spending on insurance," he said. "You might see it in this context, where you don't have the whole repeal of Obamacare, just that one part. i think you could get the Republicans in the Senate to vote for that."
McIntosh also said his biggest concern with the House legislation is that "they haven't done enough to stimulate growth on the individual side" and for "businesses that are not large," he said "I think you'll see movement in that direction in the next few days . . . The Senate bill is definitely better.""
He also said lowering the top rate will "offset the loss of the state and local deduction."
